Abstract

Interaction among learners is the theme of a social constructivist perspective that is focused in this doctoral dissertation on designing a social constructivism-based curriculum for primary science education in Confucian heritage culture. Through discussion, argumentation, and cooperation, Confucian heritage teachers are able to change toward a social constructivist teaching of science, while Confucian heritage students are able to acquire and develop scientific knowledge, skills, and attitudes.
