NMC2010 - masterstudenten

Het Nederlands Mathematisch Congres biedt dit jaar een breed scala aan onderwerpen die voor masterstudenten wiskunde interessant zijn. Daarnaast is het congres ook de moeite waard voor masterstudenten uit de lerarenopleiding wiskunde. Zo is er op vrijdag een symposium over geschiedenis van de wiskunde en een speciaal lerarensymposium.

Bovendien worden er verscheidene activiteiten voor studenten georganiseerd (in samenwerking met de studievereniging A-Eskwadraat). Donderdagmiddag, na afloop van de eerste congresdag, is er een borrel om vakgenoten te ontmoeten en ervaringen van de dag met elkaar uit te wisselen. Op vrijdagmiddag zal er een studentenlunch zijn op het Pi-balkon van het Educatorium. Deze lunch zal geopend worden door de voorzitter van Mastermath, het landelijke masterprogramma voor de opleiding Wiskunde.

Om masterstudenten te stimuleren de conferentie te bezoeken, geldt voor hen een sterk gereduceerd inschrijftarief van 15 euro voor de inschrijfkosten inclusief lunch, koffie, etc. Voor masterstudenten die geen week-OV bezitten bestaat er de mogelijkheid de Nederlandse reiskosten achteraf bij de congrescommissie te declareren. Dat moet bij de aanmelding voor het congres aangegeven worden.

The Dutch Mathematical Congress has a broad offer of subjects interesting to master students in mathematics. Most lectures are in English. (The Friday minisymposium on history of mathematics and the symposium for teachers are worth while for students of mathematics education, provided they are able to follow the lectures in Dutch.)

There will be several activities especially for students, organized in cooperation with A-Eskwadraat. On Thursday afternoon, after the first day of the congress, there is a party, where one can meet other students of mathematics and exchange the day's experiences.

On Friday there is a special student lunch on the "Pi balkon" in the Educatorium. This lunch will be opened by the chairman of Mastermath, the national master program for mathematics.

To encourage Master students to visit the conference there is a strongly reduced registration fee of 15 euro, which includes the cost of lunch, coffee, etc. Master students who wish to visit the conference, and who do not possess an exemption card for public transportation, can get their cost of travel (within the Netherlands) reimbursed by the conference committee. This has to be indicated at the time of registration for the congress.
