* Eureca!Cup (dutch)

The Eureka Cup is a national technological and (nature) scientific design competition for teenagers in grade 12 till 14 of senior general secondary education (HAVO) or pre-university education (VWO). In collaboration with companies a theme for this years competition is decided from which an design assignment is prepared. This assignment is both authentic (a real issue for companies) as well as close to the perception of the teenagers. Teenagers are stimulated to come up with an innovative answer to the posed question. Teams (containing max 5 persons) prepare for the competition by doing research, think of innovative solutions and build a prototype in the seven weeks prior to the Eureka!Day when the work is presented.

The assignment is published online and freely available for everyone but only attendees take part in the competition of Eureka!Day. For this year, 2013, a total of six assignment are published online. Teachers can register a team containing max five students per class for one of the assignments (teams in each assignment are limited). Each team pays a fee of 30 euro.
